Valparaíso is a port town that can be visited as a day trip from Santiago, Chile.

Known for its colorful streets and vibrant street art culture, the city captivates everyone who visits.

If you're short on time, joining a tour is a convenient option. But if you want to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere, visiting on your own might be a better choice.
I joined a tour, so I spent about half a day there.

With its alleys, hills, and artistic touches in even the smallest corners, Valparaíso is a truly fascinating city.

Sightseeing Spot

The streetscape of Valparaíso

The city of Valparaíso is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique landscape and rich cultural heritage.

Colorful houses cluster along the hillsides, creating a scene that looks like a painting.

As you wander through the maze-like slopes and alleys, you'll find countless scenic spots overlooking the port and the city below.
Instead of trains, locals use cable cars known as “ascensores”—a distinctive and charming way to get around in this city.

Valparaíso is known as a "city of art," where street art can be enjoyed everywhere.

Walls, staircases, and house decorations are covered in colorful paintings, making the entire city feel like an open-air art gallery.

This artistic scenery is also a popular photo spot, offering new discoveries wherever you walk.
