Rio de Janeiro

I visited Rio de Janeiro in June.
Although it's considered winter in South America, I was surprised by how hot and humid it felt.

Unfortunately, I could only stay in Rio for one day this time,
and the weather wasn’t very favorable, which left me feeling a bit disappointed.
Still, even in that short time, I was able to fully experience the charm of Rio.

If I had more time, I would have loved to stay for two or three days and explore the city more deeply...

I recommend that you stay at least two to three days to truly enjoy what Rio has to offer.

Sightseeing Spot

If you're visiting Rio de Janeiro, one place you absolutely can't miss is Christ the Redeemer.

This magnificent statue of Christ stands in a prime location where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

During the day, you can take in the stunning scenery under the blue sky, and at night,
the city lights transform it into a magical landscape.

As I mentioned earlier, the weather was unfortunately poor when I visited,
and by the time I reached the observation deck,
everything was shrouded in white.
But just a few minutes later, the clouds parted—and before my eyes unfolded a breathtaking view of Rio.
It lasted only a few minutes, but I felt truly grateful to have witnessed such a spectacular sight.

Catedral Metropolitana

If you visit Rio, the Metropolitan Cathedral is another must-see spot worth stopping by.

This grand cathedral has a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from other churches.
Its sheer scale is truly awe-inspiring.

However, despite its architectural beauty, the cathedral is located in an area that can be a bit unsafe,
so it's important to stay alert. I recommend enjoying your visit while being mindful of your surroundings.

Escadaria Selarón

This stunning staircase is adorned with artistic, colorful tiles that captivate all who see it.

The tiles come from various countries, making the staircase a symbol of international community.

As you climb the steps, you can take your time to appreciate its unique design,
with every angle offering a photo-worthy view.
Visitors are enchanted by the vibrant colors, intricate shapes, and the overall artistry of the installation.

Restaurant

Ipanema

In Ipanema, I enjoyed a delicious churrasco.
Unlike the typical image of roasted meat carved tableside, this place serves the meat sizzling straight from the grill.
You get to savor freshly grilled cuts right in front of you, and the aroma alone is enough to whet your appetite.

The portions might be a bit too generous for one person—perfect for sharing with friends or family.

This restaurant is well-known and loved by both locals and tourists alike.

Confeitaria Colombo

Confeitaria Colombo is an absolute must-visit spot.

This historic café is always bustling with people, so be prepared to wait in line when you go.

Stepping inside feels like entering a European mansion.
The elegant decor and refined interior captivate everyone who visits.

And don’t forget to try Brazil’s famous pudding! I can’t quite recall the name...
Just a heads-up—it’s much sweeter than the Japanese version!

Satyricon

This is an upscale restaurant, and it tends to be especially popular among tourists.

Every dish is a delight, made with generous portions of fresh seafood and bursting with flavor.

The interior is refined, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable.
The beautifully presented dishes are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.

To wrap up your trip to Rio, be sure to treat yourself to an unforgettable seafood experience at Satyricon!
